The first was to obtain information\u2014at both the federal level and across each federal entity\u2014on conscientious objector personnel who perform <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VTP procedures<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and on willing, trained, and available personnel who perform <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LTP procedures\/span&gt;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The second objective was to identify the extent to which conscientious objection constitutes a barrier to accessing induced abortion services. Therefore, in federal entities where abortion upon request by a woman or pregnant person has been decriminalized, questions were asked not only about VTP<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and abortion under specific grounds, but also about <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LTP services.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the responses provided by obligated entities do not offer sufficient information to conduct a comprehensive assessment of conscientious objection in Mexico, they do allow for an analysis of transparency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"box green bold py-1 my-3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To this end, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GIRE<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> developed a transparency indicator for the mechanisms available in Mexico that exclusively assesses the systematization, availability, and disclosure of information related to health care personnel and conscientious objection. This indicator does not evaluate the accessibility of induced abortion services or the barriers that conscientious objection may generate in accessing such services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The indicator was developed based on a scoring matrix consisting of the type of response provided by the obligated entity and the scores assigned to each category. The resulting score reflects the quality of the response in terms of transparency: a complete response receives the highest score, while the absence of records for the requested information receives a lower score.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The questions submitted through SAIs had two main objectives.
